Yesterday felt like Spring and today will be a little warmer before the temperatures drop back down again. It was so nice and refreshing sitting out on my deck and taking in some of the bright sunshine while I updated my calendar for the week. There is not much time for this peacefulness before the wasps start invading my deck seats with their nests. I read online that aluminum foil will deter them from nesting, so I am going to give it a try this year. If you have any tips, please do share!
I took a stroll around my yard and it seems this harsh winter really took its toll on some plants and bushes. The bushes in the front of my house may have seen their last day. They usually remain green during winter, but this year they are tan. Friday is the first yard waste pick-up for the season. Since today will be so nice, I'm going to fill my bin and get an early start.
The irises are starting to pop up, but I also noticed the weeds have already started as well. Thankfully, it seems like in a couple of weeks, Spring will be here for good. I'm sure many people are just as excited as I am to see winter go.
What is your most favorite thing about your yard or garden?

I do- I was so blessed that he gave me quite a few. They are some of my most treasured possessions :)
I agree, Melissa. Especially after this long and cold winter, Spring is a very welcomed season. A lovely memory, I hope you have some of your grandfather’s watercolors to admire.
I love to see the new growth- the flowers, the trees, the new songs the frogs at night and the birds in the morning sing…it’s wonderful to see spring here! Thank you for a glimpse in to your backyard. My grandparents grew irises; then my grandfather would paint gorgeous watercolors featuring the majestic flowers.
That’s so nice! :)
