Merry O'Penguin - December 2013
Every year, I draw a design for my Christmas card. I began this tradition in 2006. I'd like to share with you my Christmas card drawing for 2013 titled, Merry O'Penguin. It's a marker, charcoal, graphite and colored pencil drawing on 9" x 12" 140 lb. mixed media vellum paper. Total drawing time was 15.25 hours.
I always like to find meaningful quotes, which complement my drawing, to include on the inside message. This year was a bit tougher than in the past. I was thinking colorful, happy, joyous and this is what I chose:
"Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others,
you should put a good deal of thought into the
happiness that you are able to give."
A fitting quote for the season of giving. Here's to receiving a boatload of joy. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season. I hope all of your wishes and dreams come true. Wouldn't it be nice if what you choose to give makes someone else's wishes and dreams come true?
