Seedy Squirrel colored pencil drawing is completed and available for purchase in my shop. I drew this for the Colored Pencil Magazine's January 2017 Art Challenge (reference photo by Sally Robertson). Drawn on 10" x 14" Arches 140 lb. Hot Pressed, Acid-Free, Watercolor Paper with Prismacolor colored pencils. Drawing is signed and sprayed with Grumbacher Workable Fixative to prevent smudging. Arrives secured in a protective sleeve with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist and is ready to be framed to match your decor. Drawing time: 19 hours Satisfaction guaranteed. If you don't love it, please contact the artist within 7 days for information on how to return it for a refund. Below are work-in-progress images of the drawing process from start to finish.
Art goes through many different phases as it's being completed. It's the job of the artist to work through the ugly phases, without giving up on the notion that something beautiful is just around the corner. It's the multiple layers and addition of different values which turns a flat drawing into something which looks more realistic. It would take many more hours to reach a hyperrealistic feel. Maybe one day I will give that a try. I hope you enjoyed seeing this piece of art from start to finish.
